Surveys
Each student is required to participate in a survey of some topic in
computer animation. This survey must be done with a partner. For this
survey you must:
- Read the assigned papers and write "SIGGRAPH Reviews" of
them. A specially modified version of the SIGGRAPH
review form is available.
- Choose a number of other papers such that the total for the survey
(including those in part 1) is at least 6. You need to get this list
approved by the instructor.
- Write reviews for all of the papers on the specially modified version
of the SIGGRAPH review form.
- You may either prepare a written summary (as a web page), or present
a survey in class. This survey lecture will happen when it fits into
the course schedule (so if you choose inverse kinematics, you'll have
to work fast).
Topics
No two groups may do the same topic. We will devise some process to determine
who does what topic:
- Inverse Kinematics
- Natural Phenomena (water, smoke, fire, ...)
- Image-Based Rendering
- Camera Control and Matching
- Motion Capture Devices
- Shape Blending and Morphing
- Facial Animation
- Subdivision Surfaces
- Performance Animation
- Computer Assisted Cell Animation
