What?
CPU-CA is an online community of Chinese computer architects
around the world. CPU-CA has three tasks:

    - Maintaining a mailing list;
- Maintaining a web site;
- Maintaining a member directory;
Why?
There are three goals of creating CPU-CA:

    - Stimulate, present, discuss and collaborate on
      ideas.
      "Computer Architecture is the science and art
      of selecting and interconnecting hardware
      components to create computers that meet functional, performance and cost
      goals." (Quoted from WWW
      of Computer Architecture). Researchers can use
      the CPU-CA mailing list to ask questions, which are often the
      starts of scientific inquiry. Researchers can also use the CPU-CA
      mailing list to try out creative ways of presenting their ideas, like an
      artist performs on a stage. Technical discussions, hopefully followed
      by research and development collaborations, are also encouraged on
      the CPU-CA mailing list.

- Help individual achieve a prosperous future.
      CPU-CA aims to bridge researchers from all over the world, especially
      between those who are in north America and in China. North American
      universities and companys are by far the most advanced in computer
      architecture research and development. China, on the other hand, bears
      the world's largest market and talent pool. China and US need each
      other badly. Those computer architects who understand both cultures
      have the best chance to succeed in future computer architecture
      research and development. We believe CPU-CA will facilitate communication
      and collaboration between Chinese computer architects in north
      America and China.

- Have fun!
      CPU-CA is also about having fun. Through CPU-CA we hope you
      make new friends. Enjoy unique moments you and your architect friends
      spend together, no matter it is eating, drinking, singing, dancing,
      talking, listening, travelling, gaming ...

Who?
CPU-CA is maitained by a group of volunteers. CPU-CA is and will remain to be
an online community. There is no plan to turn CPU-CA into a real-life
for-profit or non-profit organization. Nobody can represent CPU-CA. CPU-CA is
not responsible for any action of its members.
Acknowledgement
We cannot be more thankful to Professor
Mark Hill
 and Professor Guri Sohi for
encouragement and support of CPU-CA. We thank the Computer Systems Lab (CSL) of
UW-Madison CS department for hosting the web site and the mailing list.
