HTCondor's Success Stories
Over the years, HTCondor has given researchers many computation cycles that enabled research in the form of simulation, rendering, and modelling. Here are some of our successes.

HTCondor provided cycles to run the povray software that rendered the many frames
used to form each animation.
He describes his research and HTCondor's role:
Using computer models of small polypeptides, G N Ramachandran created a 2D plot with the objective of finding stable conformations. These plots have found a variety of uses in protein structure determination. Higher dimensional analogs of such plots, called H-plots, can be used to obtain further restraints on the space of conformations available to proteins at the level of small peptide subchains. The ability to visualize these higher dimensional spaces is useful in giving researchers insight. The computational cost of these renderings makes HTCondor an ideal tool. These animations (sequence 1 and sequence 2) each represent the H-plot for a portion of a protein viewed by rotating the camera in the lower dimensional (projected space).
