The job you submit doesn’t have to be the same platform as the machine you submit from
- Maybe you have access to a pool that’s full of Alphas, but you have a Sparc on your desk, and moving all your data is a pain
You can take an Alpha binary, copy it to your Sparc, and submit it with a requirements expression that says you need to run on ALPHA/OSF1
