Analyzing the ShadowLog

• Incorrect file permissions or files that were removed are the most common errors

• Often useful to grep for a certain job ID

  • grep “25\.3” ShadowLog | less

• At the end of the log, you might find an entry that looks something like “ERROR:”

  • While not always the most clear, these entries usually give a very good indication of the problem
