Condor panels

In the morning we will have three semi-structured panel discussions. These will have a small panel with three or four people, including at least one Condor team member. At the beginning of each session, each panel member will be given no more than five minutes (strictly enforced) to talk about their views on the discussion topic. No presentation slides will be allowed. The rest of the time will be open discussion, guided by questions from the audience. Please note: The quality of the session will be driven by questions from the audience, so please come prepared to talk and ask questions.

Time Event
8:00 - 9:15  Breakfast
Bagels, cream cheese, yogurt, granola, fruit
9:15 - 10:00  Trust but Verify: How do you know your pool is working as expected
Moderator: Brooklin Gore
How do you monitor your pool? Is the scheduling policy you setup in Condor actually working as expected? When you go to check on the health of your Condor pool, what do you look for? How would you notice if your Condor pool was transformed into a large botnet?
10:00 - 10:15 Break
10:15 - 11:00  The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Feedback Forum
Moderator: Todd Tannenbaum
Grab a microphone and voice your feedback on anything related to Condor. Are new stable releases happening often enough? Should documentation efforts focus more on the Condor Manual or on HOWTO recipes on the Wiki? Is the flexibility of ClassAd expressions welcomed or do they make using Condor overly complex? Should we move condor-users from an email list to a Web Forum? Is the emphasis on backwards compatibility stifling creativity? Do the proposed upcoming enhancements make sense or did we miss something critical? We will have a panel of some opinionated community members to get the discussion rolling, but we'd love to hear something from everyone.
11:00 - 11:15 Break
11:15 - 12:00  From Zero to Hero: Growing your Condor pool
Moderator: Greg Thain
Hear about strategies and challenges for growing the size of your Condor installation. What are the trade-offs of federating Condor pools with flocking -vs- glidein? How about the addition of cloud services and/or non-dedicated desktops? How should your security strategy change as your pool grows? Does a carrot or a stick work better when soliciting participation at your organization?
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch
Tacos (beef, chicken, veggie), chips and salsa
