PURPOSE:
To be familiar with image processing and video editing process.
INTRODUCTION
These projects build a creative video from source video and add effects to make it more interesting. The results can be saved to a tape and can be viewed from external television.
DISCUSSION
The projects are divided into two related projects:
Project 1
Get some different sequence of a video, put them together, and add effects in between. The effects used in this project involve transitions, which is very important and useful to mark the movement from one sequence to the next sequence. Another effect used is camera blur, which blurs the image, and then we can put a new image on top of it to make some variation. It is also possible to create black and white sequence from color sequence. Premiere also allows us to creates sound effect, and add more than one sound at the same time.
The screen in Premiere displays the monitor where we can view the effects we made, and also the timeline window where we can edit the effects we made.
This is how the typical screen in Premiere looks like. In this particular example, Premiere is doing transitions between two images.
Project2
This project is more concentrated on using Premiere to add zoom effect, and other camera positioning effects to move the image. Take a three minutes sequence of a video, and use image panning effect in Premiere to creates zoom effect in different point in the sequence. We must be careful in applying the effects in a long sequence. If we want to put an effect to a smaller portion of the sequence, we need to cut the sequence into smaller pieces, so the effect we applied to the sequence doesn't get carried out the whole sequence. This is important when we want to build the video we created. If we apply the whole effect we create to the whole sequence, it will take Premiere very long time to compute the effects and build the video.

CONCLUSION
Premiere is very helpful software to use to creates and edit video. It has a lot of interesting features, such as the image filters (black and white effect, camera blur), image panning, and creates transitions, which will be used in the next project. Premiere also allows the user to export the video they created to an external device, so the result can be viewed elsewhere.
