James' Project Page for Computer Animation CS838-1

A picture of me. James Masanz, aranduil@cs.wisc.edu

I have a different pair of glasses now, but I don't have a recent enough picture to put up yet...

My CS home page is pretty Spartan.

My first drawing using Maya (art assignment 1):

Circus ring drawn with Maya.

A circus ring, with two dice ready to dive off a platform, a pool of water off to one side, and some marbles on the other side. The pole has two spotlights attached, one that lights the platform and one that lights the floor below.

So where were the shadows? Ooops, I left them out of the first rendering.... click here to see a bigger, sharper image that includes shadows and some colored shapes, plus one of the dice is in mid-fall.

Art assignment #2 - an animation. It was a BIG Quicktime file so be patient. Some of the objects slide around as if they were magnetic and were controlled by some magnets under the table.

My animation looks better if you move the slider yourself instead of pressing the play button. For some reason QuickTime does not show some frames - it seems to hang or freeze for a few frames and you miss most of the action of the second die falling from the platform.

I did not work with a partner on art assignment #2.
