This is the directory for my in class presentation, which was about
Non-photorealistic rendering. The presentation covered three papers:
"Paint by Numbers" by Paul Haeberli (SIGGRAPH 1990)
"Painterly Rendering for Animation" by Barbara J. Meier (SIGGRAPH
1996)
"Processing Images and Video for an Impressionistic Effect" by Peter
Litwinowicz (SIGGRAPH 1997)
In this directory, I have included:
npr.ppt: My Power Point (tm) presentation
hibiscus.tif: A nice image from the
Litwinowicz paper. I used it as the background for my presentation.
cablecar.avi: My favorite clip from the
Litwinowicz paper
hay.avi: My favorite clip from the Meier paper
toon.avi: A clip I showed in class, but very
little else.
To appear soon: My critiques of the papers presented.
A few links of interest:
Pen and Ink drawing page from U Washington. I didn't get a chance to
talk about this subject in class, but you might want to explore it on your
own.
Lightpoint.com
is the place I got the toon shading clip from.
