With the deviations from the rest pose calculated we were still faced with the problem that the head model was on a far different scale than the data. The data was rescaled by using the Maya measuring tool to calculate the distance between features across the face: Brow to brow and lip to forehead. This allows a subject to drive a model that has a differently shaped face.
