Books: 1. Shot By Shot- A practical guide to filmmaking (Red book): Chapter 3, 5, 6, and 8 2. Film directing shot by shot (Blue book): Chapter 14, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21. Topics 1. Composition, including shots size and camera angles. 2. Shots from moving cameras, including the pan shot, the crane shot, the tracking shot, and hand-hold shot. 3. Traking shot choregraphy 4. Transition between shots, including cut, dissolve, fade in/out, and white in/out. 5. Lighting, including light measurement, lighting tools, light angles, three-point lighting, motivated/non-motivated lights, color, light contrast, and night shooting. Both books are easy to read. Blue book gives a good introduction of camera motion and shot transition; while the red book describes camera angles and lighting really clear.
