How satisfied are you with Project 3? What grade would you give yourself? I'm very happy with how well I know motion graphs now; I was a little insecure in my understanding of it before; the only thing I'm slightly disappointed with is that we didn't allow more time to test our implementation and make sure it's entirely correct. Even still, I think I'd give myself an A for project 3. What went right with your Project 3? I think we have a good implementation of motion graphs that follows the paper. I also think that my understanding of the algorithm is much better than before. What could have been better with your Project 3? We could have allowed more time for testing and done each component of the algorithm separately, rather than doing it all at once (graph pruning, motion blending, transition finding, etc.). What advice would you give to someone doing your project next year? Implement and debug each part of the algorithm separately, then combine them. Our bugs would have been much easier to find if they hadn't been occurring together at the same time. What did you learn from your project? I got a much more concrete understanding of the motion graphs algorithm as well as how to use the general motion research library. How do you think you did with the other class projects (projects 1 and 2)? I thought I did extremely well on project 1, even though there was a slight problem with our implementation, which I didn't realize until weeks afterwards. I'm very proud of how well that project turned out and how much I learned doing it. For project 2, the implementation project was good, although perhaps a bit of a sidetrack for an animation class. I thought the lecture I did with Greg in class went extremely well. How do you think you did with the other aspects of the class? On the homework, I thought I did well; in retrospect, I wouldn't have divided up project 1 as I did, but I really had fun with the analysis of that Ikea commercial. On the reading summaries, I tried to give a faithful description of what I read and generally kept up with them, so I have no complaints there. Class participation is something I try to work on, and it's definitely an area in which I can stand some improvement.
