CFP: 20th International Workshop on Data Mining in Bioinformatics (with SIGKDD'21)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BIOKDD 2021 in Conjunction with SIGKDD 2021

August 14-18, 2021
https://biokdd.org/biokdd21/

INTRODUCTION
------------
BIOKDD'21 invites KDD researchers to solve problems in Bioinformatics, Medical and Health Informatics. BIOKDD has been successfully held in conjunction with SIGKDD for 19 years, and this year's encouraged theme is "Artificial Intelligence in Medicine". This field focuses on the use of machine learning and data mining techniques for the analysis of large amounts of heterogeneous complex biological and medical data, with a particular focus on deep learning methods that see fast advancement and wider adoption in Bioinformatics (e.g., DeepVariant, AlphaFold 2).

Since this year is BIOKDD's 20th anniversary, we will have a series of invited talks by world-renowned experts on their recent and on-going Biomedical research. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SIGKDD'21 decides to be held virtually, so BIOKDD'21 will be a virtual workshop. We will ensure the quality of digital workshop experience.

PUBLICATION OPTION
------------------
As a tradition of BIOKDD, accepted original submissions will be invited to publish in IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (TCBB).

IMPORTANT DATES
---------------
Submission Due: May 20, 2021
Notification Date: June 10, 2021
Workshop Date: August 14-18, 2021

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
---------------------
We solicit submission of papers in the following three categories:

* Regular Track: original papers without duplicate submission. Papers should be at most 10 pages in length, and using ACM Proceedings Format (https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template) is recommended.

* Abstract Track: 1-page limit, for introducing preliminary research outcomes, with emphasis on research effectiveness on real-world datasets.

* Late-Breaking Research: submission of a published manuscript (at least in arXiv) along with additional supplemental/unpublished data, to highlight thenwork's impact.

All papers will be peer-reviewed. If accepted, at least one author should attend the workshop (with a virtual option) to present their work. The papers should be in PDF format and submitted via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=biokdd20210
