REPHRAIN, the National Research Centre on Privacy, Harm Reduction and Adversarial Influence Online, is looking for new researchers to shape the future of digital interactions online. The CLARITI project aims to build an intelligent system that is able to detect and track medical and health related (dis/mis) information across multiple modalities on social networks. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for developing and evaluating a novel graph based multi-modal machine learning model that can learn from the common data modalities encountered on social networks (e.g., text, image, video), as well as the network structure, for detecting and tracking online (dis/mis) information. This is a fixed-term position (with a possibility of extension) based within the REPHRAIN centre at the University of Bristol. The successful candidate will be a promising early-career researcher in the field of machine learning / cybersecurity, with an interest in graph neural networks, learning from multiple data modalities and social network analysis. You should apply if You have a track record of excellence in machine learning; You have experience analysing large volumes of complex data; You have experience of working in multi-disciplinary research projects; You can find out more infromation here:https://www.bristol.ac.uk/jobs/find/details/?jobId=209045&jobTitle=Research%20Associate%3A%20CLARITI Closing date 8th Feb 2021
