Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Applied Computing – Cybersecurity Location: Glendale, AZ Position Type: T-TT Open Date: 1/20/2021 Position Description: The School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor in Applied Computing with a focus area of Cybersecurity. This position will begin in August 2021. Successful candidates are expected to establish a vigorous, externally-funded program of research in Computer Science with an emphasis in Cybersecurity; to deliver quality instruction in Applied Computing; and to contribute service to the school, college, university and the profession. Essential Functions of the Position: The individual filling this position is expected to establish a vigorous, externally-funded program of research in Computer Science with an emphasis in Cybersecurity; to deliver quality instruction in Applied Computing; and to contribute service to the school, college, university and the profession. Qualifications (bullet points) Required Qualifications: 1. Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, by time of appointment; 2. Evidence of an on-going research program in Cybersecurity and a record of publication and commitment to securing external grant funding consistent with candidate's experience; 3. Commitment and ability to work with a diverse student population. Desired Qualifications: 1. Evidence of potential to enhance and span the current expertise in Database Systems, Networks or other areas of research in the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences; 2. Evidence of successful college/university teaching and course development experience; 3. Interest in establishing interdisciplinary research programs; 4. Practice guiding undergraduates in research and student mentorship; 5. Established collaborations with industry partners. 6. Externally funded program of research. 7. Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including first-generation college students.
