37th IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering
Virtual Edition
19-22 April 2021

The annual IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE) is the
flagship IEEE conference addressing research issues in designing, building,
managing, and evaluating advanced data-intensive systems and applications. For
over three decades, IEEE ICDE has been a leading forum for researchers,
practitioners, developers, and users to explore cutting-edge ideas and to
exchange techniques, tools, and experiences. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and
imposed travel restrictions, the 37th edition of IEEE ICDE will be transformed
into a fully virtual event that will provide the community with an interactive
digital forum for educational exchanges, scientific news and best practice
updates while protecting the safety, health, and well-being of all congress
participants.

The IEEE ICDE Virtual Conference will take place between April 19-22, 2021. In
this time of uncertainty, our goal for this virtual event is to continue to
meet the needs of the broad ICDE community and to ensure that we keep the
scientific momentum going. To this end, we are working on developing a
relevant and effective communication platform with positive impact reaching
far beyond the congress. Attendees, exhibitors and presenters will be able to
access a variety of programmed virtual activities, such as workshops,
presentations, one-to-one meetings, virtual poster sessions, and ad-hoc
meetings between attendees and exhibitors. All the sessions will become
available on demand in the weeks following the conference.

Until advances against COVID-19 give us once again the opportunity to meet in
person, we can enjoy our participation in a safe and fruitful online edition
of IEEE ICDE. Stay tuned!

We thank you in advance for your support in making the IEEE ICDE'2021 Virtual
Conference a success!

Warmest Regards,

Anastasia Ailamaki, and Minos Garofalakis
