The Department of Information Technology at Uppsala University is planning to open a tenured senior lecturer (associate professor) position in data management. Uppsala is a picturesque town with a thousand-year history, but is also a growing city bustling with business and activities. Uppsala University plays a big role in the city, with around one fourth of the residents being students. Sweden has a generous welfare system that includes paid parental leave, affordable daycare and practically free medical care. The department employs roughly 300 people, including more than 30 full professors, about 75 teachers and researchers, and about 130 PhD students, and houses about 30 research teams, providing plenty of opportunities to collaborate in a wide range of fields.
