****** C A L L F O R TUTORIALS ****** The 6th Workshop on Big Data Open Source Systems BOSS 2020 in Conjunction with VLDB 2020 DATE: September 4, 2020 WEBSITE: https://boss-workshop.github.io/boss-2020/ EMAIL: vldb.boss.workshop@gmail.com *** UPDATE *** Due to COVID-19, BOSS 2020 goes virtual. *** SCOPE *** Following the great success of the previous BOSS workshops collocated with VLDB since 2015, the sixth Workshop on Big Data Open Source Systems (BOSS'20) will again give a deep-dive introduction into several active, publicly available, open-source systems. The systems will be presented in tutorials by experts who will give details on installation and non-trivial usage examples. We will encourage proposers to engage participants in hands-on quick jump-start familiarity exercises for each system, and will publish the resources made available by the presenters (e.g. slides, texts, exercises, etc.) on the workshop’s website. *** SUBMISSION GUIDELINES *** To propose a tutorial, please email a short abstract with a brief description of the system, an outline of the planned tutorial, the technology used for the hands-on tutorial, a list of presenters involved, and a link to the website of your system to vldb.boss.workshop@gmail.com. The standard tutorial duration is 1.5 to 2 hours. *** IMPORTANT DATES *** Tutorial proposal submission: June 5, 2020 (Extended!). Notification of acceptance: July 3, 2020.
