Call for Papers - 1st International Conference on Applied Technologies - ICAT 2019. http://icat-conferences.org/2019/ ICAT 2019 will be held in Ecuador in December 4-6, 2019, and is jointly organised by Universidad Técnica del Norte, and Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja in collaboration with GDEON®. Contributions are welcome but not restricted to: Technology Trends Internet of Things Blockchain Big Data Smart Cities Machine to Machine Data Analytics Mobile Applications Deep Learning Digital Transformation Software Engineering and Quality Computing Quantum Computing High Performance Computing Distributed and parallel systems Social Computing Cloud Computing Grid Computing Embedded Computing Large-scale applications Human-centred Computing Mobile computing Intelligent Systems Artificial Intelligence Neural Networks Fuzzy Logic Expert Systems Agents and Multi-agent Systems Natural Language Processing Data Mining Support Vector Machines Ambient Intelligence Sentiment Analysis Machine Vision Human Computer Interaction Computer Vision Image Processing Robotics Geographic Information Systems Video Analysis Medical Diagnosis Segmentation Techniques Augmented Reality Virtual Reality Security Privacy Surveillance Biometrics Internet Security Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Web Services and Performance Secure Transactions Cryptography Secure Protocols Cyber Security Communication Connected Machines Networking Wireless/ Mobile Communication Signal Processing Satellite Communication Systems 3G/4G Network Evolutions Mobile Adhoc Networks Open Spectrum Solutions Communication Protocols Cognitive Radio Electronics Green Computing Smart Grids Sensing and Sensor Networks E-Waste Digital Circuits Analog Circuits & Signal Processing Design Automation Computer-Aided Network Design Assembly and Packaging Systems Architectures e-Learning e-Learning Tools Mobile Learning e-Learning Organisational Issues Gamification Collaborative Learning Curriculum Content Design Educational Systems Design Virtual Learning Environments Web-based Learning Delivery Systems and Environments Important Dates Call for Papers: April 1, 2019 Paper Submission Deadline: September 30, 2019 Acceptance notification: October 31, 2019 Final Paper Submission Deadline: November 30, 2019 Online Registration (Open): November 1, 2019 Conference dates: December 4-6, 2019 Submissions Research Track ICAT 2019 invites high-quality submissions in different areas in the field of computer science. The research papers must describe novel and original work that pushes the state-of-the-art. Case studies and empirical research papers are also welcome. Industry Track ICAT 2019 invites high-quality submissions in all different areas in the field of computer science. The industry track papers should prioritize impact and realism over novelty. We expect that industry track publications report useful testing tools, successful stories, and experiences when applying theories and methodologies into practice, or promising prototypes that have the potential to impact practice in the next few years. Topics of interest include but are not limited to ICAT Topics. Submitted papers must have been neither previously accepted for publication nor concurrently submitted for review in another journal, book, conference, or workshop. Research papers and state-of-art/review/systematic literature on all conference topics should be formatted according to the Springer CS Proceedings (LNCS) format. Downloadable templates: Word or Latex. Information for Authors of Springer Computer Science Proceedings. We encourage users to use Springer’s proceedings template for LaTeX in Overleaf. All submissions must be in English (12-15 pages; including figures and references). Important note: ICAT 2019 follows a full double-blind review process. Therefore, authors must remove personal details and should also ensure that citations to their own work are written in the third person (i.e. do not write ”our previous work”; use ”the previous work of X”). And moreover, it is recommendable five authors as a maximum per paper. Authors are required to ensure the accuracy of quotations, citations, diagrams, maps, and tables. Figures and tables need to be placed where they are to appear in the text and must be clear and easy to view. Submissions that do not comply with the above guidelines may be rejected without review. Papers must be submitted through the conference EasyChair submission site in PDF format. Evaluation Submissions will be evaluated by at least three program committee members. The evaluation will focus on the novelty, originality, importance to the field, proper use of research methods, and presentation of the submissions. We strongly encourage authors to make available all data and software they use in their work, in order to allow for verification and replication of their results. Post Conference Publication and Indexing ICAT 2019 proceedings will be published in Springer with Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series and submitted for indexing to DBLP, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews, SCImago, Scopus, and ISI Proceedings. Special Issue Authors of selected papers from ICAT 2019 – Research Track will be invited to extend and revise their papers for submission to the special issue of Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics and International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology. Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics The journal is abstracted or indexed in Science Citation Index (SCI), Engineering Index (EI), Journal Citation Ranking – JCR (Q4), Scopus, SCImago (Q3), IEEE Xplore, INSPEC, Cambridge Science Abstract (CSA), Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), China Science and Technology Core Journals, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Wanfang Data Information Site. International Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology The journal is abstracted or indexed in Scopus, SCImago (Q2), and INSPEC. Presentation If authors are unable to attend the conference and present their papers, they should contact the program chair so that substitute arrangement can be done, e.g., virtual presentation.
