At the University of Hildesheim, Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Economics and Computer Science, Institute of Computer Science, the following endowment full professorship, supported by the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, is to be filled as soon as possible: Data Science (W2/W3) Recognized expertise in - Machine Learning, - Artificial Intelligence, - Big Data Analytics, - Distributed Computing, - Cognitive Computing, - Business Intelligence, - Predictive Analytics, - Computer Vision, - Computational Statistics or any other promising research area within data science is sought in particular. The position is tenured. The position will head a research group, e.g. consisting of two or three paid PhD positions. We are looking for a researcher with an excellent publication track record in data science and a strong commitment for teaching. A PhD degree and postdoctoral experience as well as English proficiency are required. German proficiency is not necessary initially, but should be acquired within the first three years to some degree. Interest in and experience with research funding and cooperations with other disciplines and companies are beneficial. The Institute of Computer Science has a strong focus on research and education in artificial intelligence, machine learning and software engineering. It features the very successful International Master's Program in Data Analytics (see www.ismll.uni-hildesheim.de/da/) as well as Bachelor and Master programs in Applied Computer Science and Information Systems. It is part of the recently founded Center for Digital Change and cooperates with a wide variety of other disciplines.
