CALL FOR PAPERS

GENERAL INFORMATION

SBBD is the official event on databases of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). It is the largest venue in Latin America for presentation and discussion of research results and applications in the database domain. It usually gathers 500 attendees. Past editions of SBBD have been organized in cooperation with ACM/SIGMOD and partially sponsored by the VLDB Endowment.

Along with technical sessions, the symposium includes invited talks and tutorials given by distinguished speakers from the national and international database research community. SBBD also promotes a Thesis Workshop, a Demos (Tools) Session and a Poster Session as co-located events. In 2015, we will also have a Thesis and Dissertation award, which will recognize the best 2014 Brazilian thesis and dissertation in the database area.

For the 2015 edition, SBBD will accept two kinds of publication:

* Full papers. Submissions in this category should present complete research results in any of the SBBD topics of interest. They must be written in Portuguese or English and not exceed 12 pages, according to the SBC template. The templates for submission are available at http://bit.ly/1coeoWk. Papers must be submitted by the deadline through EasyChair website at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sbbd2015

* Poster papers. Submissions in this category should present initial results or on-going work in any of the SBBD topics of interest. They must be written in Portuguese or English and not exceed 6 pages, according to the SBC template. The templates for submission are available at http://bit.ly/1coeoWk. Papers must be submitted by the deadline through EasyChair website at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sbbd2015posters

The best full papers submitted to SBBD will be invited to submit an extended and revised version to the Journal of Information and Data Management (JIDM).

Authors of accepted full and poster papers must register and present their papers during the conference. Additionally, papers that were directly submitted to JIDM and accepted until July 20th will also be presented during SBBD 2015.

In its 30th edition, the symposium will be held in Itaipava, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from October 13-16, 2015. Although it is near to the famous Rio beaches, Itaipava is located in a charming, beautiful mountain region close to Petr—polis, a charming city that hosts many Brazilian architectural landmarks such as the former Summer Palace of the Brazilian Imperial Family. It will be organized by Laborat—rio Nacional de Computa¨‹o Cient’fica (LNCC) and Centro Federal de Educa¨‹o Tecnol—gica Celso Suckow da Fonseca (CEFET-RJ), Brazil.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

FULL PAPERS

Full papers should present interesting recent results or novel thought-provoking ideas in any subject on databases and related areas. They must be written in Portuguese or English and must not exceed 12 pages, according to the SBC template. The templates for submission are available at URL http://bit.ly/1coeoWk. Before submitting a full paper, authors must register its title, list of authors and abstract through the submission Web page (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sbbd2015). Papers must be submitted by deadline using the same submission site.

Full papers submitted to SBBD must not have been simultaneously submitted to any other forum (conference or journal), nor should they have already been published elsewhere.Ź The acceptance of a paper implies that at least one of its authors will register for the symposium to present it. Submitted papers will be reviewed based on originality, relevance, technical soundness and clarity of presentation.

The SBBD full paper review process is performed in one round of reviews with a rebuttal phase. All authors will be notified with the reviews and then will have one week for answering the reviewers' comments during the rebuttal phase. After evaluating the rebuttal comments, a final decision will be sent to the authors. Final selected papers will be published in the SBBD Proceedings and presented during the symposium.
Selected papers accepted for presentation at SBBD 2015 will be invited to be re-submitted in an extended English version for a fast-track revision and will be published in the February 2016 issue of the Journal of Information and Data Management (JIDM).

POSTER PAPERS
