EFIS 2013

                          Final Call for Papers

6th International Workshop on Engineering Federated Information Systems,
                        Magdeburg, March 12, 2013

                  http://www.btw-2013.de/efis2013-en.html

Engineering Federated Information Systems covers all aspects of
integrating heterogeneous information systems, (database) schemata, as
well as data. The permanent need to integrate existing systems in
order to get a homogeneous access to data in different systems
developed for different purposes results in ever new research efforts
to provide better integration techniques and methods. Here, we can
already rely on research results from several decades in this research
area. Progress in other areas, like the development of new software
and system architectures (e.g. SOA, Cloud) or new applications,
e.g. In social media, renew and strengthen the need for further
research.

Continuing the successful EFIS workshop series of 5 international
workshops from 1997 to 2003 this workshop aims at bringing together
researchers working on different aspects of Engineering Federated
Information Systems. 10 years after the (for the time being) last
EFIS workshop we resume the idea of intensively discussing current
work in this area in a nice and fruitful workshop atmosphere.

Beside submissions on current work we also welcome survey submissions
covering the progress in the field (or some particular area) over
time. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Data and schema integration
- Data integration in the cloud
- Architectures for federated information systems
- Matching and mapping of heterogeneous data sources
- Generic data models (EAV, NoSQL)
- Object identification in heterogeneous data sources
- Schema matching based on ontologies
- Ontology matching
- Data cleaning
- Data quality in integrated systems
- Data warehouses as integrated system
- ETL process for Data Warehouses
- Applications of data and information integration
- Eventual consistency among Federated Information Systems
- Long-term operation of Federated Information Systems
