Overview

Security continues to be a critical topic in distributed systems, both in the commercial and scientific worlds. The proliferation of grids, clouds, peer-to-peer systems, web applications, and e-commerce all contribute to the challenge of securing our computing and networking resources.

The goal of WGC-Sec is to bring together a diverse group of researchers from industry, academia and government. It is only through the collaboration and synergy of these groups that we will make significant progress. We encourage papers that report on concepts and mechanisms for making systems more resilient to attack, and papers that report on concepts and mechanisms for finding security vulnerabilities in systems. Papers that report on new formalisms, ideas, techniques, tools, or case studies are all encouraged.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Intrusion detection and prevention
  • Binary code analysis
  • Cyber-forensics
  • Trust delegation and management
  • Web services
  • Authentication and authorization
  • Fuzzing
