The Wisconsin Wireless and NetworkinG Systems (WiNGS) Laboratory was established at UW-Madison in the summer of 2005. Research in the WiNGS lab is conducted in the areas of networking and distributed systems with a primary focus on wireless and mobile networking. Research activities in the lab maintains a balance between algorithmic design and analysis, and systems building through functional prototypes. The activities of this lab are generously supported at different times through funding from governmental agencies, such as the NSF, and many industrial partners.   

Recent news:

  • May '12: Shravan Rayanchu wins the Outstanding Research Award from the CS department.

  • March '12: The WiRover experience paper to appear in MobiSys 2012.

  • February '12: Ashish Patro awarded a Microsoft Research fellowship. (Other current fellows in the group include Sayandeep Sen and Shravan Rayanchu.)

  • December '11: WiFiNet paper to appear in NSDI 2011.
