Moving Data To And From Computers In Statistics

The thin clients in Statistics are able to transfer files from CD/DVD media (read only) to your server, and transfer files between (both read and write) USB thumb drives and your server. Please see the Thin Client File Transfer FAQ pages on procedures for transferring files.

If you have other USB devices that you would like to use for file transfer (hard drive, camera, etc), you can use your own computer (typically a laptop) and a program like WinSCP, or you can use one of the Statistics department Windows computers (winstat01, 02 or 04) to attach the device and make transfers. If you want to write a CD or DVD, you can use your own computer (if it has a CD/DVD writer), or you can use one of the Statistics department Windows computers.
