Making a 3D scene

Mushroom Harvest

The scene is of a field with mushrooms. The focus of the scene is a bowl.

Composing it involved two planes - the ground and the sky. The "sky was tilted appropriately to give the look of sunlight and clouds at one corner.

The mushrooms and the bowl were made by manipulating the control verteces of a sphere to get the desired shape.

Two directional lights were used to illuminate the scene and provide appropriate shadows, while an ambient light was used to give clarity to shadowed areas.

The rendered shot is from the perspective of a camera inserted into the modeled area.

The textures used on the mushrooms are of marble, with the colors changed to more brownish yellow. The bowl has a standard wood texture. The ground uses a Brownian motion texture, with black and shades of green.
