The Harmony Schema Matcher and Data Integration
Workbench, developed by The MITRE Corporation, is now available royalty
free for academic use only. Harmony
identifies candidate semantic correspondences among XML schemata or
RDF/OWL
ontologies and includes three key components:
- A multi-strategy schema matcher that
automatically identifies likely correspondences based on linguistic
similarity
of element names and associated documentation, also using a thesaurus,
- A graphical user interface (GUI) for visualizing
and correcting candidate matches, and
- An integration workbench, which provides an
extensible framework for coordinating multiple integration tools.
Harmony can be extended to incorporate new
match
algorithms or new schema types and can be used to provide a flexible
GUI for interacting with
existing match algorithms. Matches that are confirmed by a human in the
loop
can be passed to other integration tools via the integration workbench.
Harmony
is available as a single Java archive (jar) file.
