GE has had a great deal of success in employing Artificial Intelligence. This
talk will review the area where the bulk of that success has come: Adaptive
Methods. Work here as contributed material to GE's efforts in Financial
Services, Manufacturing and, even, Broadcast Television. The talk will
illustrate that work, attempt to identify the roots of that success, and pick
out areas for future research.
