Some CS problems in Mechanical Modeling

Modeling and manipulation of mechanical artifacts on a computer presents
many challenges (and many research opportunities!) that are being largely
neglected by both computer science and mechanical engineering communities
because the problems appear to lie somewhere "in between" ME and CS. This
talk will describe several such problems related to shape modeling of
families of mechanical parts and their physical properties.
